President Volodymyr Zelensky and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer coordinated their positions to achieve guaranteed peace for Ukraine as soon as possible.
The President of Ukraine shared this on the social media platform X, as reported by Ukrinform.
“I spoke with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. We discussed the current developments and exchanged views on the next steps. We are coordinating our positions and doing everything to achieve guaranteed peace as soon as possible and bring an end to this war,” Zelensky emphasized.
He noted that peace is needed for all of us – a just peace with clear security guarantees.
“Together with the leadership of the United States and all of Europe, this is absolutely achievable. I am grateful for the advice and support during this challenging time. We will always remember everything the British people have done for Ukrainians and our shared security,” Zelensky said.
As previously reported, on March 4, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is seeking reliable peace and is ready to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible. He also proposed the first steps for a ceasefire – the release of prisoners, an immediate ceasefire in the skies: a ban on missiles, long-range drones, bombing of energy and other civilian infrastructure – and an immediate ceasefire at sea, if Russia does the same.
