Yermak, Kellogg meet in Munich

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has said he is satisfied with the outcome of his meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Speaking to Ukrainian journalists in Munich, Yermak emphasized the key focus of their discussion: coordinating joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, Ukrinform reports.

“Putin never plays by the rules. The Russians respect only strength and disregard those who fail to use it. Any agreements without strong pressure on Russia will not work — control over Ukraine remains at the core of the Kremlin’s imperial ambitions. That is why it is our shared duty to ensure that the aggressor pays a real price for everything it has done,” Yermak said.

In a Telegram post, Yermak also said that the parties discussed the continued support for Ukraine.

“This is not just about our country’s security, but the security of all of Europe and the world. Helping Ukraine now is far cheaper than confronting a stronger Russia later. We also discussed preparations for upcoming high-level meetings and the planned visit of the U.S. special envoy to Ukraine. I am grateful for the support and the commitment to working together for the restoration of justice and security,” he added.

On Saturday, February 15, Kellogg is expected to attend the Ukrainian Lunch event in Munich.

The Munich Security Conference runs from February 14 to 16.
