
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas met in Brussels to discuss financial support for Ukraine’s defense.
Umerov shared details of the meeting on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“Today in Brussels. I held a meeting with the EU High Representative, Kaja Kallas. An important discussion on financing Ukraine’s defense,” he wrote.
Umerov said the EU was working on a new initiative to provide more funding for air defense missiles, ammunition supplies, as well as training and equipping Ukrainian troops.
He also highlighted discussions on other forms of support.
“We are ready to establish joint ventures with leading defense companies both in Ukraine and within the EU,” Umerov said.
He thanked Kallas and the European Union for their steadfast position and support for Ukraine.
