Ukrainian forces have repelled a Russian assault in Ukraine’s northern Sumy region, with drone operators from the “Prime” strike UAV unit and mortar crews from the State Border Guard Service playing a key role in the defense effort.
Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service released video footage of the engagement, Ukrinform reports.
According to the report, a three-man Russian infantry group crossed the border and attempted to approach Ukrainian positions.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of UAV operators and border service mortar teams, the Russian infantry was neutralized.
Colonel Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Siversk Operational and Tactical Group of Forces, reported earlier that Russian activity along the border has decreased in most areas, except for certain sections of the Sumy region bordering Russia’s Kursk region.
