
A Russian missile strike on a residential building in Poltava this morning killed two people and injured seven others, including a child.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Emergency workers rescued 21 people from the damaged building. The attack caused a partial collapse from the 1st to 5th floors and ignited a fire. Nearby houses and 12 cars were also damaged.
Rescue and emergency operations are still ongoing at the scene.
Earlier on February 1, Russian forces also targeted the Myrhorod district in the Poltava region, damaging energy infrastructure.
