Poland to step up cooperation with Ukraine on drone production – Tusk

[ad_1]

Warsaw will closely cooperate with Kyiv on drones production and their adaptation to the evolving battlefield situation.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made this announcement in the Sejm during a speech on international situation and national security following the European Council summit, Ukrinform reports.

Tusk emphasized that purchasing traditional weaponry alone is no longer sufficient in modern warfare.

“The battlefield is changing before our eyes every month. We will work with the Ukrainians, who are ready for intensive cooperation, particularly in the area of drones. This will ensure that the Polish army is equipped with modern technology not in years, but in months, adapting to current battlefield needs,” Tusk stated.

The Prime Minister confirmed that Poland will continue its existing arms contracts with the U.S. and South Korea for traditional weaponry. However, the country will also pursue modern solutions, including acquiring non-traditional weapons and strengthening Poland’s nuclear security umbrella.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Tusk recently stated that Russia is losing the arms race against Europe, much like the Soviet Union once lost to the West.
