Bodies of 757 fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

As part of the repatriation efforts, Ukraine has received the remains of 757 fallen defenders.

That is reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, according to Ukrinform.

The returned heroes include those who fell on the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, as well as those retrieved from morgues in Russia.

The repatriation was made possible through the joint efforts of Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters, the Civil-Military Cooperation Department, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the SSU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Ombudsman, and other security and defense agencies in Ukraine.

The Headquarters expressed gratitude for the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who are responsible for transporting the repatriated fallen heroes to designated facilities and ensuring their transfer to law enforcement authorities for identification and examination.

Investigators, together with expert institutions, will promptly work on identifying the deceased.
