On Monday, February 17, the German government announced a new aid package for Ukraine.
The updated list of military assistance has been published on the official website of the federal government, according to Ukrinform.
The package includes 56 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles. Additionally, Germany has provided ammunition for the Leopard 1 main battle tank and the Marder infantry fighting vehicle.
For air defense, the package contains 41,000 rounds of ammunition for the GEPARD self-propelled anti-aircraft system, as well as IRIS-T SLM and IRIS-T SLS missiles.
Artillery support includes four Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers, 50,000 rounds of 155mm shells, and 2,000 rounds of 122mm shells.
Drone supplies are also significant. Germany has provided 300 HF-1 drones, 51 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts, 245 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones, 29 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones, and 14 HORNET reconnaissance drones.
For demining operations, the package includes two WISENT 1 mine-clearing tanks and 16 mine plows. Additionally, Germany has delivered eight border security vehicles.
The package also includes 645 laser rangefinders, 74,000 rounds of 44mm ammunition, 100 MG5 machine guns, 2,915 HK 416 assault rifles, and 900 MK 556 assault rifles. Furthermore, 64 HLR 338 precision rifles with 314,000 rounds of ammunition, 20 CR 308 rifles, and 73 AK-47 assault rifles have been supplied.
Germany has also provided over 60 million rounds of firearm ammunition.
In addition to military equipment, the aid package includes 27,800 wool blankets, 766 sleeping bags, and 37,200 tourniquets.
In December 2024, Ukraine received another — possibly the largest — military aid package from Germany, which included air defense systems.
