Bucha summit adopts joint statement

The international summit in Bucha, held on March 31, concluded with the adoption of a joint statement emphasizing the need to investigate every war crime committed by the Russian Federation, ensure the perpetrators are punished, and prevent such tragedies from happening again.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, shared details of the summit on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“The international summit in Bucha has come to an end—a meeting that has become an act of solidarity, integrity, and shared responsibility. I am grateful to my colleagues who visited this city, which symbolizes Ukrainian pain, resilience, and dignity. Bucha did not surrender. It endured Russian aggression, losses, and destruction. Today, it is rebuilding,” Stefanchuk posted.

He highlighted that the summit, attended by delegations from the parliaments of democratic nations, resulted in a joint statement delivering a clear message to the global community: aggression must not go unpunished, and justice must prevail.

“It is our collective duty to investigate every war crime, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure that such tragedies never recur. I am grateful to every nation that supports Ukraine. We will always remember this support,” Stefanchuk emphasized.

He also expressed Ukraine’s aspiration for peace, stating, but it must be “a just peace—not an imposed one—a peace where there is no place for aggression, destruction, or genocide.”

“Bucha awaits the truth and trusts in justice. We will do everything in our power to turn this belief into reality,” Stefanchuk concluded.
