On March 21, 142 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded at the frontline yesterday.
According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.
Yesterday, the Russians launched one missile strike on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using one missile, as well as 85 air strikes, dropping 134 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy carried out 6,407 attacks, including 199 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used about 3,000 kamikaze drones.
The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Petrushivka, Turia, Uhroida, Stepok and Krasnopillia in Sumy region; Pokrovsk, Zoria, Oleksandropil, Nova Poltavka, Hrodivka, Sukhyi Yar, Komar, Shevchenko, Novopil in Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Huliaypole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Tavriyske in Zaporizhzhia region; Krupytsia, Chervonyi Maiak in Kherson region.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 26 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an air defense facility, five artillery pieces and a Russian command post.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy tried to break through the defensive lines near Vovchansk six times.
Six Russian attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Ukrainian troops repelled assaults in the areas of Holubivka, Kruhliakivka, Zahryzove and Pishchane.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 22 times, trying to break into the defense in the areas of Kopanky, Novomykhailivka, Novyi, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, Torske and Ivanivka.
In the Siverskyi sector, Russian troops made five attempts to advance in the area of Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, and towards Ivano-Daryivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the militants attacked four times in the Chasiv Yar area and in the direction of Predtechyno.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 19 attacks near Dachne, Druzhba, Diliyivka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 37 Russian assaults in the areas of Zelene Pole, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Preobrazhenka, Bohdanivka and Andriivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russian army launched 11 attacks toward Kostiantynopil, Dniproenergia and Rozlyv.
In the Huliaypillia sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled two attacks in the areas of Novosilka and Pryvilne.
No combat engagements took place in the Orikhiv sector yesterday.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy tried unsuccessfully to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops once.
No signs of the formation of offensive groups of Russian troops were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
Ukrainian defense forces continue operations in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Over the past day, the Russians carried out 18 air strikes, dropping 25 drones, and fired 276 times, nine of which were from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders stopped 23 Russian assault operations. One firefight is ongoing.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the total combat losses of Russian troops in the war against Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to March 22, 2025 amounted to about 902,010 people, including 1,210 people over the past day.
