State Emergency Service receives over 3,000 pieces of equipment since full-scale invasion

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has received more than 3,000 pieces of equipment since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Andriy Danyk, the head of the State Emergency Service, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already received more than 3,000 pieces of equipment. Of course, it was a very powerful support from other countries and various organizations. The countries that have provided assistance include many across the globe. Last year alone, we received about 600 units of various equipment from our partners for our units,” he said.

Danyk noted that Denmark provided the rescue service with substantial support, including 40-meter firefighting crank lifts.

“They were very useful to us and have already saved many lives. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the enemy has captured 1,006 pieces of equipment. In addition, the Russians have destroyed 98 pieces of equipment and damaged 372,” said the State Emergency Service head.

He informed that 70% of the damaged equipment has been successfully evacuated, repaired, and returned to service.

According to the head of the State Emergency Service, their units are now properly equipped to fulfill all their assigned tasks.

Danyk said that the SES receives sufficient funding from the general fund of the state budget to purchase the necessary equipment.

“We also have about 10 joint international technical assistance projects with our partners. In addition, we have significantly expanded our fleet of mechanized demining vehicles that can clear difficult areas of mines. We already have 89 such vehicles,” said Danyk.

He explained that in the process of clearing the territory of Ukraine of explosive ordnance, rescuers use, among other things, robots to neutralize the most dangerous mines and drones with special equipment for mine detection.

As reported, sappers from the State Emergency Service received equipment and gear from the international organization The HALO Trust on January 29.
