The Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled a Russian assault on the Pokrovsk front, which was carried out under the cover of difficult weather conditions.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group of Troops on Telegram, along with footage of the failed enemy attack.
The Russian forces waited for an favourable moment and launched their assault in the morning during a snowstorm, increasing the size of their infantry assault groups to five to seven soldiers.
Moving on foot, the invaders attempted to approach the Ukrainian positions from multiple directions simultaneously.
Aerial reconnaissance detected the enemy’s movements, and Ukrainian artillery and drone operators engaged the targets. The enemy infantry was eliminated before they could reach the Ukrainian positions.
“The result of the artillery and UAV operators’ work – another enemy assault repelled, their plans thwarted. No deterioration of our tactical positions was allowed,” the Khortytsia command reported.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Russian forces attempted to use their numerical advantage on the previous day to break through the Ukrainian defenses near Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Udachne, Uspenivka, Nadiivka, Oleksiivka, Andriivka, and Ulakly.
